Tamara O'Reilly

HIIT | PILATES | MAMA

Movement has been a huge part of my life since age 3 when I started, and fell in love with dancing. Now, over 30 years later, I still don’t like sitting still! (2 kids, 2 businesses and a super busy hubby will do that to a girl!)

In 2014 I moved back to Australia from London, having retired from dancing and running my Pilates studio, I was ready to commit to helping others get the very best out of their bodies.

What can you expect from my classes?

Lot’s of fun and a really good challenge! Every class is always different to keep you focussed and moving forward.

I am right there with you every step of the way, offering variations to keep you safe or progressions to push you just a little bit further. 

Outside The Body Workshop…

I love to travel and spend time with my husband, children, friends and family. We lived in London for several years so we LOVE being able to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful weather in Australia!

Anything Else We Should Know?

I love getting to know my clients and discovering what they want to gain from their sessions. I believe no two bodies are the same and each person needs nurturing to reach their full potential.

I enjoy working with a wide range of clients; helping postnatal mums reconnect with their body after giving birth and teaching them how to work safely, all the way to professional athletes looking to improve their game – and everyone in between!

Julia Coursey

BARRE | PILATES | STRETCH

I started Dance at age 3 and instantly fell in love with movement practices. I pursued dance as a career after school and discovered
Pilates and body conditioning while studying a Bachelor of Dance at the VCA. Since moving back to Wollongong at the end of 2019 I have had the opportunity to teach virtual classes with TBW and have loved making new friends and clients in the process.

What can you expect from my classes?

I love creating a class for everyone no matter what level you are at in your practice. I always aim to bring a positive energy to each class and love to challenge my clients. I am interested in the principles of precision and flow and aim to help my clients connect deeper to their body while moving between exercises with intention and ease. My
background in dance also comes into play, as I will add dance moves for some playful variations in my classes. We all have a good giggle and a walk down memory lane for those who once danced as a child.

Outside The Body Workshop…

I love hunting for genuine mid century furniture, op shopping, listening to good vintage vinyl, making sourdough bread, drinking great wine, eating all the cheese and spending evenings with friends
doing most of the above.

Anything Else We Should Know?

As an instructor everyday is a day to learn and I am excited to grow and develop my practice with my clients. By teaching, I have the opportunity to support and share in my client’s goals and successes and that is so incredibly rewarding and fulfilling for me.

Gaby Leite

STRETCH | PILATES

Hello, I’m Gaby, a Brazilian teacher returning to an old passion for teaching Pilates and searching to embrace an improved way to move my body and yours of course!!! I started a journey of self-healing a while ago and Pilates complements that journey! I would love to share my knowledge with you!

What you can expect from my classes?

My classes have the goal to make you feel good and centred, so you can expect a mix of calm parts, but also a little of a Brazilian flavour 🙂

Outside The Body Workshop…

I have been a swimming teacher for the past 20 years and have taught babies through to adults.

I am very approachable and love to learn anything to help in my self-healing journey and share with that with the people surrounding me.

Liz Lees

PILATES | BARRE | MAMA

My first introduction to Pilates was as a  teenager getting home from school and whacking on the VHS tapes my mum had from Mari Windsor Pilates. I had always loved sport but Pilates was the first experience I had with a mind body connection and I fell in love with it. I was such a Pilates nut I managed to convince my year 11 PE teacher to let me teach Pilates classes as a sport option.

I continued practising Pilates for over a decade before turning this passion into a career becoming a Mat Pilates instructor in 2017 as well as a Barre Instructor and Kids Yoga teacher. In September 2019 I dove in deeper and continued my study in Pilates to become a Comprehensive instructor.

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science at university to further develop my knowledge and skills. 

 

What you can expect from my classes. 

Inclusiveness, I plan my classes with modifications and progressions in mind so that regardless of your level you can always find quality movement in your body. For my Pilates and Mama classes I love to find a focus on alignment and a mind body connection. For Barre I love the chance for us to still keep our Pilates principles but to get that burn on and get sweaty!  

Outside the studio 

When I’m outside the studio I love spending time with my friends and family. I love traveling and traveling to natural places with beautiful scenery where I can enjoy hiking and swimming. I am so lucky to live in this beautiful part of the world where we have all of this on our doorstep.

Anything else we should know?

I am fascinated by the benefits movement creates for our minds and bodies. The most satisfying part of being an instructor for me is watching clients hit their goals and improve in their own practice. I love Pilates and I am constantly inspired by the results achieved by those who use it.

Bec Anderson

BARRE | PILATES

I have a background in dance, dancing professionally in ballets from the age of 8, finishing
my career in my late 20’s touring with a contemporary company around Europe. Since then I have been working with Pilates, Personal training and teaching Zumba and Barre. I have always been active and have a love for mindful and expressive movement.

What you can expect from my classes?

My classes are of a steady, fluid pace with easy to follow cues. They have a consistent flow of movement that integrates mobilisation of the body, strength work with the underpinning
focus to balancing out common musculature issues caused by today’s society of desk sitting
and technology. Some of my classes are more cardio based with challenging balance
concepts.

Outside The Body Workshop…

Outside of TBW I like to weight train and get my cardio by doing my famous “run-shuffle”
along our beautiful coastline of many beaches. However, my favourite time for myself is
having girly days out with my daughter, going to the ballet, musicals and other shows.

Anything Else We Should Know?

It’s so important to me that my clients have an understanding of why they’re doing a particular exercise or movement, so they can relate it back to it’s particular function in everyday life. I find this crossover very important with everyone I work with. I want to empower everyone with their own tools so they can take control and help themselves have a better quality of life.
